The Create and Craft Streaming App and Web Player - Update July 2023

You may have seen that our new streaming service has recently launched! With the new service, you can:

  • Watch your favourite shows with the added benefit of pause, rewind, and rewatch capabilities.
  • Browse by air date, event, craft category, or show type.
  • View easy seven-day catch up.
  • Watch exclusive content never seen on TV before.
  • Access a library of tutorials, demonstrations, and courses.

The first thing you may notice is that we have removed the older live stream from the homepage and the web player has a new home which you can find behind the TV icon at the top right of every page, next to the search bar.

We are very excited for the opportunity to bring the crafting community all the demonstrations and content you love, on demand, at your fingertips! The web player app is available now on all major smart TV systems as well as Android TV, Roku TV, Amazon Fire TV, with more options available soon!

Create and Craft Club Magazine, Monthly Gift, and Membership Benefits

After many years, it is with great sadness that we must announce the end of our Create and Craft Club quarterly magazine with immediate effect. We understand that this news will come as a disappointment to many, so we wanted to explain how we came to this hard decision, how it may affect you as a Club Member, and to touch on what comes next for the Club going forward.

Earlier this year, the company we partnered with to create the magazine sadly ceased trading, leaving us to try and find a replacement within a short space of time who could still deliver to the standards we had established over the last decade of publication. Despite our best efforts, it has become clear that we cannot move forward with a printed magazine in such a challenging market, and as such we have been left with little choice but to remove it as a benefit of Club Membership indefinitely.

As a Club Member, we appreciate that part of the fee for Membership is paid in good faith to receive four instalments of the magazine over the course of the year. As such, we are planning to extend the remaining time on your annual membership as recompense for any magazines you were due to receive:

  • If you were due to renew between 12.08.2023 and 21.06.2024, the amount of time left on your membership will be doubled.
  • If you were due to renew between 11.07.2023 and 11.08.2023, the amount of time left on your membership will be extended by 30 days.
  • If your renew date is due after 22.06.2024, there will be no alteration to your membership.

We are also making some changes to existing features, and in some cases retiring them in their current form while we work on updating and refreshing the Club overall. As such, the existing ‘just pay postage’ monthly gift system has been retired while it is reworked.

While this news may not feel important to all our members, we know that the magazine and monthly gift meant a great deal to a lot of our Club Members. Rest assured, we are working diligently on bolstering the Create and Craft Club with new, online, immersive features and offers to bring you the content you’ve come to expect – stay tuned to hear what we have in store over the coming weeks, including:

  • Updates to your exclusive weekly offer email
  • The return of the e-mail newsletter
  • Early Bird access to our major promotions (Pick of the Week, New and Exclusive, to name a few)
  • Automatic entry into regular prize draws
  • And more to come!

Website Improvements

With the changes listed above, the time has come to renew and refine some of the inner workings of our website and background systems to accommodate what comes next. With that in mind, we are announcing some new features to give you more control over your user settings.

As of the 5th of July, logging in via the profile icon at the top right of the website will give you new options including:

  • Subscription status, including start/renewal information with auto-renew option.
  • Updated wallet, allowing you to customise and update your payment methods personally.

As more updates will come into effect, we strongly advise that all customers familiarise themselves with their settings and subscriptions to ensure everything is as expected – if you are unsure or have any questions, please email us here.

Club Changes June 2023

Create and Craft Club and Freedom update 20th June 2023

Dear crafters, as you may be aware, we’ve recently undertaken several technical upgrades which have had mixed results. One area we noticed wasn’t performing as expected was the updated auto-renew system for subscriptions such as our Create and Craft and Freedom memberships.

Any customer who was due to renew their Club or Freedom membership between May 1st 2023 and today, June 20th 2023, may have noticed a disruption and as such, not been able to make use of benefits such as free postage or discounts.

We’re happy to announce that this error has been rectified, tested, and the update will begin to roll out over the next few days. For anyone who was affected by this error, we will be reinstating your memberships automatically and extending them until the 31st of July, absolutely free of charge.

If you opted to cancel your membership within the period stated above, you will notice it will reactivate over the course of the dates listed – again, this is completely free of charge and if the cancellation was deliberate, you can still enjoy all the benefits until it falls back into to a suspended state as of the 1st of August, 2023.

We highly recommend that all customers familiarise themselves with their updated settings and subscriptions to ensure everything is as expected. If you’re unsure or have any questions, please email here or call us on 01733 602000 (select option 5).

For those of you who have been shopping in this timeframe and may have had missed their discount or postage deductions, we’re very sorry for the disruption caused and will be refunding these amounts to you. If you believe your orders were affected, please contact [email protected] with the order numbers in question for our team to process as a matter of priority.

If you’ve already been in contact, not to worry – we’re working through them and there’s no need to contact us again at this time.
