Growing up in the village of Sassenheim in The Netherlands, surrounded by bulb fields, Thea was brought up with a passion for flowers. Her aunt was the one to introduce her to embroidery. Thea was quick to pick it up and along with her passion to draw flowers was soon spending her spare time creating beautiful pictures with coloured thread.
After some years in the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague Thea started her own patterns which led to where she is today, creating embroidery patterns inspired by nature.
