Gina-B Silkworks Ganutell Covered Card Decorations
The Covered Card method of making wire and thread flowers is one still used in passementerie today. Originally made using covered parchment, the shapes are added to tassels, rosettes and woven fringes to create interesting focal points. Complex ornaments can be created using these techniques. Traditionally, warps of very fine floss silk and silk covered perl wire are used to cover these shapes so that the covering resembles fine satin, However, a lovely finish can be achieved using one or two strands of very fine thread, such as the cotton floss in this kit. In this kit you will find all of the materials - including a reusable mylar stencil so you can keep creating - and instructions to create various different petal shapes using these traditional techniques.
