"My daughter has a flimsy plastic pouch for her school books and homework; she asked me to make her a book bag and this is the result. It is also perfect for laptops/tablets and A4 pads (for those, like me, who still use paper!) I made the All Cotton Fabric version for my daughter, but loved it so much I made one for myself. Mine is made out of cork and tapestry fabric (which could easily be normal cotton, but I love the textures in this make)." - Natasha
To make this item, you will need:
- Fat Quarter fabulous fabric for your bag outer (Natasha used tapestry fabric)
- Fat Quarter cotton fabric for your bag lining
- Fat Quarter sewable cork for your bag flap
- Vlieseline Style-Vil Fix or similar fusible foam interfacing
- 80mm wide Vlieseline Waistshaper
- Two 18mm magnetic clasps
- Seam ripper
- ¼" quilters' washaway tape
- Co-ordinating thread
- Basic sewing equipment
