Sew Enchanting was established in 2008 following years of interest in quilting first bought to my attention by my Grandmother, a lifelong quilter. Having taken my City and Guilds I was keen to set up workshops in our little village shop and very quickly my hobby became my business. I wanted to find different styles from around the globe and have over time covered designers from America, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, the Netherlands to name but a few. The challenge was to find designs that were relatively unknown to our shores. When the opportunity came to exhibit at national quilt shows up and down the country, many of these designs became household names. As well as our own designs, Bird Brain, Lynette Anderson, Kim Deihl and Birdhouse designs of Australia have been our mainstay over the years.

We are forever moving forward. At the shows we endeavoured to have at least one new kit made and on sale every time, replenishing with new at every opportunity. We like the muted tones produced by the likes of Moda, Henry Glass and Lecien which give the products a classy stylish look often very different to the fabrics chosen by the designers. This puts a different slant on many of the products and gives the customer the realisation that there are no rules in quilting. Choosing your own colours different from the pattern can and should be the norm. We try to buck the trend as to what is seen as normal, as said above, with our selection of fabric choices, this can be seen when comparing our samples to the pattern pictures. We want to see further than what is in front of us to inspire seasoned and novice quilters alike.
