Sarah King is a paper cutting artist from Kent, England, whose unusual style of working with layers of coloured paper and card has led to her pieces being shown and sold at exhibitions and galleries across the UK and from her online outlet, Apple Seed Paper Cuts.

A self-taught artist, Sarah has developed her paper landscapes over the last five years, evolving from single-colour silhouette cuts to the full colour pieces you see today.

Based on her learning journey, she has now, for the first time, released a range of engaging templates created from nostalgic memories of childhood holidays and day trips to the British coast and countryside. Born into an artistic family, Kim was always encouraged to paint and draw creatively. Although as a teenager she went to Harrogate Art College in the UK for her Foundation year, it wasn’t until Kim was in her late 30s that she began studying for a degree in Textiles and Surface Design at what was Cleveland College of Art and Design (now The Northern School). She graduated with first class honours at the age of 40. Kim rediscovered cyanotype a process introduced to her as a child via an old pack of Sun Print paper someone had given her children, while developing artwork for her degree; from there her blue-and-white adventures began.

Kim regularly participates in trade shows, exhibits at art fairs and galleries, and teaches workshops. She has illustrated several poetry and children’s books, and her work has also featured in two regional magazines, Cumbria Life and Cumbria Magazine. In 2020, Kim appeared on BBC Countryfile as part of Wordsworth’s 200th birthday celebration.
